REHABILITATION SERVICES

PATIENT SPECIFIC REHAB

We have found that incorporating physical therapy and rehabilitation expediates the recovery process. It also helps in preventing the original complaint from returning. We have noticed that when the patient plays an active role in his or her care, results are enhanced. Patients that comply with recommendations are typically more satisfied, and see the best results.

SELECTIVE FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT (SFMA)

Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) is a movement screening that is meant to find musculoskeletal dysfunctions. It assess for both mobility and stability issues and uses a 7 step baseline movement pattern. Based on the baseline findings, the physician may decide to further break out into more specific patterns to diagnose the cause of any pain and further assess that quality of each movement, Identifying the true cause of dysfunction, and not just treating the symptoms is a key step to getting the best results.

MCKENZIE METHODS

The McKenzie Methods of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy is an assessment system that is deployed when patients are dealing with radiating or shooting pain. The foundation of MDT therapy puts treatment in the patients control and is based around "centralizing" pain. Our physicians are specially trained to recommend and incorporate this technique and will explain in further detail what the goals are based on the presentation.
